There’ve been a few life traumas along the way. What I’ve tried
to do, that is when I haven’t been kicking rubbish bins and screaming
at the walls, is to make something positive come out of what would otherwise
have been a totally negative experience. The death of my sister and several
close friends all at an early age and the stillbirth of our first daughter,
Laura, led me into the charity work I do. Being diagnosed with cancer gave
me a new subject for a book. A desire to support others became the reason
for writing a play. Through all this I’ve been lucky enough to have
the unfailing support of Jeremy and our children, Zoe and Sam, and my many
fantastic friends. It’s been an interesting road so far from a country
upbringing in Somerset, boarding school at 11, and university at 18 to cook,
cleaner, waitress, secretary, theatre front of house manager, counsellor,
actress and writer. I’ve no idea what’s around the next corner.
I’m just happy to be here … to be able to take a look…
